Portsmouth Annual Memorial Day Parade

A Portsmouth tradition since 1884. Annually, the Memorial Day Parade salutes the service and sacrifices of the men and women of the United States Armed Forces and celebrates Portsmouth’s proud military heritage. This year’s parade will include floats, marching band units, armed forces units, lots of excitement and much more.

Newport News Memorial Day Celebration at Victory Arch

Sponsored by American Legion Braxton-Perkins Post #25, this annual ceremony is held at 11 a.m. at the Victory Arch, 25th Street & West Avenue, in downtown Newport News. After the ceremony, the public is invited learn about America’s rich military heritage at the Virginia War Museum. Visit the museum on Memorial Day and receive $1 off the admission price.

Virginia Beach Patriotic Festival  May 29th-31st

The Patriotic Festival celebrates THE MILITARY at The Virginia Beach Oceanfront for three days of National Touring Artists Concerts, along with Military Display & Demos and a three day Oceanfront Air Show featuring The Blue Angels.

Be a part of this salute to our troops, serving now and in the past. A salute and celebration of our military! Remember the men and women of the United States Military and Armed Forces for their heroism and the sacrifices they make for Americans.

This year’s concert line-up includes Alabama, Lee Brice, Chase Rice, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Colt Ford, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, Drake White and the Big Fire, and the annual Oceanfront Air Show!

The Patriotic Festival is the largest regional Military Celebration and is the City of Va. Beach’s primary event of the summer season.
